Filtration of groundwater
Aqua Claro is getting more and more demand for well or groundwater filtration systems.
People who live more remote sometimes do not have city water and have to work their way out with groundwater. Or some wish to extract their own water autonomously.
Groundwater (depth of more than 15 metres) can contain a whole range of several substances. It may show discolouration and/or give off an odour.
Depending on the substances present, the purpose for which one wishes to use the water (garden, toilets, washing machine, showering, drinking water), the flow rate required and the pH value, there is a whole range of systems to achieve the desired result.
The most common substances filtered are:
- Hardness (lime & magnesium)
- Iron
- Ammonium
- Manganese
- Nitrites
If you want to do your own water extraction, it is important to be well informed around the legal standards and obligations. Therefore, contact us today.
Filtration of rainwater
Rainwater can be reused primarily to flush the toilet, for the washing machine, in the garden, for cleaning... If you use rainwater for these applications, you will soon consume 50% less drinking water.
For this, you will need a sediment filter, activated carbon and possibly a UV lamp.
Beware, sometimes roofing (often with a flat roof), causes discolouration of the rainwater, which cannot be filtered away with activated carbon. At that point, another filter system with resins is needed.
Rainwater contains bacteria. We therefore recommend installing a UV lamp (for sterilisation) as soon as you wish to use the rainwater for the washing machine or shower.
You can also start using the rainwater as drinking water, but then of course it must meet the legal standards for drinking water, and an additional filtration system is undoubtedly needed. This will soon require quite a budget.
